Entrance Slip: Three Articles

For my inquiry, I want to focus on the use of computer games and apps to enhance student learning in the classroom. I feel that the following articles reflect my idea perfectly.

1. This article looks at the different aspects of computer gaming in the classroom and whether it can be a good or a bad thing.

Ke, F. (2008). A case study of computer gaming for math: Engaged learning from gameplay?. Computers and Education, 51, 1609-1620.

2. An article that looks into a study of students' motivational effects towards computer games and how much their prior knowledge of English and computers have to do with it.

Kebritchi, M., Hirumi, A., & Bai, H. (2010). The effects of modern mathematics computer games on mathematics achievement and class motivation. Computers and Education, 55, 427-443.

3. An article that takes a look into game-based learning and its effect on motivation in students.

Papastergiou, M. (2009). Digital Game-Based Learning in high school Computer Science education: Impact on educational effectiveness and student motivation. Computers and Education, 52, 1-12.
